Chris Cantell annouces Help for victims of the cyclone in Bangladesh

Suman Sengupta, director of the children in Bangladesh feared the final death toll of the tropical cyclone, that hit Bangladesh on Thursday, will take 10 000 to 15 000 victims. Forecasts based on experience and reports from the scene were talking about high numbers. Despite of the bad forecasts, the death toll didn't reach more then 4 000 of victims till now. Early warning programme provide by government had saved vast of people. About 1.5 million of people were able to hide in shelters. Fakkhruddin Ahmed, interim country leader promised the help to the damaged areas. Washington, European union, British, German, French and other governments decided to offer their help to Bangladesh immediately. Army helicopters, navy, military, rescue teams, food and non-food help were sent to the country. International groups and international aid organizations as WFP (World Food Programme), The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society didn't stay behind. Together, sent help makes tones of food and relief materials and thousands of rescuers. Financial help for rebuilding houses is counted in millions of dollars. Pope Benedict XVI consider the victims to be hardly tested and calls for every possible effort to help them. There are still unreached areas, where rescue teams didn't arrived yet. Hopefully, the forecasts and warning programs will be even more effective in the future and shelters reachable for more people. Instead of overcoming the bad situations best as we can, we will be able to avoid them before they affect.

In 2006 the third series of The X Factor was won by Leona Lewis who obtained a 1 million pounds recording contract. It is not surprising in the context that her first single, a cover of Kelly Clarkson's hit "A Moment Like This" was sold in 571,253 copies, beating Take That's single "Patience" and was crowned the 2006 UK Christmas number-one single, outselling the rest of the Top 40's sales combined. The single "Bleeding Love" the competition winner's song is atop the singles chart for the fourth week. Nevertheless, Lewis' album had to face strong competition from the Spice Girls' "Greatest Hits" album, debuting on number 2 in the album chart. In the single chart Take That remained in second place with "Rule The World" and on number 3 it's Timbaland with "Apologize". Kyle Minogue occupies the fourth place with "2 Hearts". Squirrel is a mammal that we know from some fairy tales. Nice , cute, funny. But what we really know about this fascinating animal. Do we know about competitions between grey and red squirrels? No. I don't think so. We really don't know a lot about this animal, how does their life looks like. It is maybe not so simple as we think. Red squirrels in United Kingdom are in danger. Why? Because of their cousins Grey squirrels. They are more powerful and not so weak and have better conditions for life. So they find mates, have small squirrels and are not so in danger as red squirrels. Red squirrels are really in danger. There are now only 40,000 red squirrels in Ireland. How can it be so? Ireland survives red squirrels. There are some special measurements to protect red squirrels. What could people do? They could help. But don't you think it is all about nature? Should we play a role of God? Could we? I know, it is too sad that one brand of squirrels is in better situation than the another, but..that is life. It is "law of jungle". And poor squirrels are a part of this law system. We can do what we want to do, but we can not find a right way how to escape before destiny of nature and before destiny of our world.

Chris Cantell annouces Google Plans on Providing Wireless

The Google Inc. is planning to broaden its services working towards building a wireless network on its own. The FCC (Federal Communication Commission in the USA) is giving out a spectrum in January 2008 in an auction and Google representatives have reported they have set aside financial resources to join in and place their bid. Some specialists are being skeptical about Google's financial situation, others expressed curiosity why would an online advertising giant want to diversify into such area of business. One of the reasons may be the fact, that this step would create an opportunity for promoting Google application, along with Google entering mobile phone market with Android. The issue of whether Google should not join together with a partner is rising further questions of who should (or will) that be. As reported by the magazine PC world, some analysts suggest it could choose Sprint (http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,139762-c,google/article.html). Others believe this could be a chance for an operator that has not yet found its way to the U.S. market. One way or another, the auction will be held on January 3rd 2008 and that is when we find out, whether AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless should expect a competition in the market. It would be good news for customers, as the experience has proven, the more competition, the better the service and the lower the prices.

50 years of creative playing

I clearly remember the times when I was at home and my brother was showing me how exactly I should work with every piece of our Lego to build a big house with two rooms and a nice red roof and some trees in the garden in front of this cute house. Honestly when most of girls used to play with Barbie dolls I loved Lego and all things you could do with it. And that's why it is no surprise for me to write that Lego celebrates its 50th anniversary. Lego is a line of building toys which consists of plastic bricks when ever y piece has its design consisted of studs and holes and if you are stacking one on top of another one you can build anything ranging from village house to replicas of well known buildings around the world. Lego is manufactured by Lego Company which was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen who was a Danish carpenter. The first piece of Lego was the basic eight-stud red brick which was at the end of 1940s sold in Denmark for the first time in history. After that it took about eight years till Ole's son invented and developed versatile brick which is a basic of today's success of Lego. So you are probably asking where does lie this legacy of Lego? First of all it is the creativity what Lego and its toys offer to the kids. They can not only play but create! They don't have to play with dolls where all they can do is to put some clothes on it and then off. They work with colorful bricks which hold together so well they can build anything they want from barn to sky-scraper. Their plays are more gamesome and it leads them to create something and so show their skills. After a big success of this toy brand it started to open Legoland theme parks and every of them receive more than 1 million visitors per year. After more than 60 years first bigger problems appeared & new kinds of toys started to attracting kids' attention more than Lego and it flashed on Lego's eroding sales. After this warning Lego Company think out the Star Wars revival which led to creating video games as well, but it didn't help for long. In recent years is company getting down & numbers of stuff fell down in 4 years by more than 2000 people and Legoland parks were sold. That's why the Lego Company is planning only small celebrations. I don't know what you think and feel about it but for me it is a big pity that kind of creative ways of playing are displaced by others which are more hard then creative. Hope Lego Company finds some new way of attracting kids' attention and will rise again.

2008 State of the Union focuses on economy

On Monday President Bush delivered his annual State of the Union speech. He focused on troubling situation in US economy and urged Congress to approve $150 million rescue plan. "At kitchen tables across our country, there is concern about our economic future," he stated. However, some people already questioned the size of the stimulus package wondering if it is big enough to deal with the recession. On Iraq, always a main topic of his addresses to the Congress, he declared his decision to send another 30,000 troops to the fight last year to be a success. The increase has helped to restrict violence, but US troop withdrawal from the country is far away and thus the end of the conflict too. As far as the two previous goals are concerned, immigration and Social Security, Mr. Bush left those to Congress to deal with. He also threatened to veto any tax increases in his final year. "A modest speech with modest goals," David Gergen, former advisor to Reagan and Clinton administrations, called it. And indeed there is truth in that for George Bush used his previous speeches to promote big issues such as invading Iraq, developing alternative fuels or partially privatizing Social Security.

Ruined privacy or more convenience?

We tend to complain about the e-mails or newsletters various companies send us to inform their potential buyers about the "things which are being prepared in the kitchen of the company". You are too lazy to try on all the items you'd like to buy, so you just look up your measures in the hand-sized laptop. When you enter a shop of Benetton, your favorite one, all the sales clerks greet you, they ask how your sick doggy is doing and pick you exactly the shirt you would choose yourself. Although you aren't friends, they know everything about you, the members of your family, your habits, preferences and even really personal and private information you would hardly tell somebody. Microchips are the source of it. When you got home, the fridge warns you about the expiry date of your milk and about the missing items that were already ordered on-line, so you the device just wanted to let you know. Your laptop checks who is on-line in all your social communication networks you are registered in and how the news about all your friends is. Before you go to bed a friendly reminder in your bedroom announces you need to go to the gym tomorrow, because today you gained some more pounds. Samak Saundaravej Thailand's new prime minister

Bankok, Jan 28. Thailand's House of Representatives voted leader Samak Sundaravej as the Tahailand's new prime minister. Thailand has completed a transition from military rule back to democracy. But analysts predict that this transition has not already been over. Samak, 72, was voted by 310 members of the 480-seat House of Representatives. Samak's rival was the 43-year-old Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the opposition Democrat Party. Mr. Samak beat Mr.Vejjajiva by 310 votes to 163. After the vote in Parliament, Samak wants the reporters to respect his privacy. "Nothing will change in my life," Samak said. "There will be no celebration over my appointment." All members took part in the voting. Three members, Samak, Abhisit and the house speaker, abstained. As the leader of the People Power Party, Samak will lead a coalition that together control about 65 percent of the seats in the House of Representatives. Despite Samak's victory, it is possible, that he will be replaced by someone else. The Thai media speculate on who can be another canditate for prime minister. "I think the Thaksin group will try to find a way to get rid of him over the next few months," Jon Ungpakorn, a former senator and democracy activist, said of Samak. "He was an asset in the election. He will be a liability as prime minister." This leaves the Democrat Party with 165 seats, as the only opposition party in the house. The voting for prime minister was originally expected for Friday but later dealyed to Monday. New cabinet line-up is expected to be announced in early February Samak is a blue-blooded member of the Thai elite and he graduated in law from one of the best universities in the country. Samak's grandfather reigned from 1851 to 1868. He king gave He family He last name, Sundaravej. In Love With A Feelin'

Have you ever imagined how lucky you are to be born into these modern times? If you were born in 19th century, the "little thing called love" would be really thrilling story with an open ending. 100 hundred years ago there were no cell phones.
